Fallen Earth has a 30 day trial available.

Since I *am* tired of fairies and dwarves I thought I'd try it out this weekend. Anyone else wanna give it a couple of hours?

Tough one, I think I did try this once before and didn't get very far, might be different if done in a group or at least with someone else. I will think about it.

It's not entirely smooth on my system, but I love the environment.

It's also really really crafter friendly. I think just about every quest line starting out throws a crafting skill at you. But I did start out in the town identified as being for crafters.

The combat is what Tabula Rasa and Global Agenda promised at and didn't deliver.

I haven't seen much of the world outside of the own I started at (Midway) and a nearby town a mile down the road, but the world feels immense.

I'm pretty sure I'll play it for the month and then decide.

I'm currently washing all of the Blizzard stains from my soul, so a good MMO would be therapy for me.

I'll add you to my friends list when I get in this afternoon.

So far I've done the Midway quests, most of the Odenville quests (although I think a more opened up at 10), and I've been out to Embry Crossroads and Oilville.

I'm still having a pretty good time.

It's scratching an itch that I've had since finishing up New Vegas last fall.

It does seem to grow on you once you get past the first couple of hours. It does remind me of games from a few years ago, where they have a lot of content, but their UI is old school. They need to find a better way to present the content they have to players who are new, I'm sure once you know where everything is, it's not as a big a deal.

Like an Eve, or Star Wars Galaxies, or Darkfall.

Tons of content, but hard to find information you need to understand it all within the game.

Still it has some shining points. This might be the first game I stay in First Person Mode while playing. I think I was 8 when I signed out, not sure I will purchase as Rift really has caught my attention, but I will play for through the trial.

I ran into something kind of interesting while exploring.

I had marked an abandoned mine with a custom waypoint marker because it has about 10 to 12 mining and scavange spots in a small area. And no mobs to contend with.

The last time I went back there, it was crawling with black ant warriors. I thought that was kind of cool and assumed it meant that the various creature spawns moved around. Although, up to that point, it had seemed like you could generally find Coyotes where you last hunted coyotes, lizards where you last hunted lizards, etc.

However, during the course of cleaning out the ants to harvest the resources nodes, I bumped into something called Queen Ant (BOSS). Which preceeded to kick my ass.

I did some research and these boss mobs appear to pop up randomly around the game world and always act as a spawn node for thier creature type. Supposidly, they drop spiffy lewts as well.

I thought that was a pretty cool feature in the game.

It looks like they only way to add a friend is to right click on the character.

So, I'll have to see you in game. I'll keep doing a /who mayo from time to time to see if I can find you. Or you could jump into TS when you play. ;)

I'm pretty sure this isn't for everyone, in the way that SWG or EVE isn't for everyone, but I'm confidant that I'll be playing for a while.
